Advanced Deep Excavation Engineering for Complex Basement Projects
The International Geotechnic Competition (IGC) is one of the competition categories in the “CIVILWEEK 2026” event, open to current university students worldwide who are interested in geotechnical engineering. This competition provides a platform for participants to apply their geotechnical knowledge and skills to solve real-world challenges or case studies related to the field. This year’s IGC competition is themed “Advanced Deep Excavation Engineering for Complex Basement Projects.” The competition aims to develop innovative solutions for deep excavation design that are not only safe and efficient but also sustainable, particularly for complex basement projects in dense urban environments. Participants will be asked to identify innovative and sustainable solutions that are both effective and efficient in designing soil retention systems, construction methods, and monitoring strategies for deep excavation projects with challenging geotechnical conditions. Participants must submit clear and well-structured proposals and presentations of their innovations.
